Biografia:
É professor catedrático do Centro Regional de Viseu da Universidade Católica Portuguesa e investigador do Centro de Estudos Clássicos e Humanísticos do Instituto de Estudos Clássicos da Universidade de Coimbra. No âmbito da sua atividade de docente e investigador tem privilegiado os estudos de língua e literatura latina – sobretudo comédia – e do humanismo quinhentista português. É autor de várias traduções de Plauto e de Terêncio.

Biography:
Couto is a full professor at the Viseu Regional Centre of the Universidade Católica Portuguesa and a researcher at the Centre of Classical and Humanistic Studies of the University of Coimbra Institute of Classical Studies. In his activity as a professor and researcher, he has privileged the studies of Latin language and literature - mostly comedy - and of the Portuguese Renaissance. Couto is the author of several translations of Plautus and Terence.
