Biografia:
Doutorada em História pela Universidade de Coimbra, em cuja Faculdade de Letras exerce funções docentes na área de História Moderna e Contemporânea. Autora de vários estudos no âmbito da História Cultural e Política, tendo recebido em 2004 o Prémio da Fundação Calouste Gulbenkian em História Moderna e Contemporânea atribuído à obra A Academia Real da História: os intelectuais, o poder cultural e o poder monárquico no séc. XVIII (2003), Ed. MinervaCoimbra. É investigadora do Centro de História da Sociedade e da Cultura, membro do Conselho de Redacção da Revista de História das Ideias, membro da direcção executiva da Biblos: Revista da FLUC e Académica Correspondente da Academia Portuguesa da História.

Biography:
Isabel Ferreira da Mota got his PhD in History from the University of Coimbra (UC), where she has since then been teaching courses in the area of Modern and Contemporary History. She authored several studies in the realm of Political and Cultural History, having been the recipient in 2004 of the Prize of Modern and Contemporary History awarded by the Calouste Gulbenkian Foundation to her book A Academia Real da História: os intelectuais, o poder cultural e o poder monárquico no séc. XVIII (2003). She is member of the editorial boards of the Journal of the History of Ideas and of Biblos: Journal of the Faculty of Letters of the UC. She is a researcher of the Centre for the History of Society and Culture and a corresponding member of the Portuguese Academy of History
