João Pimentel

Biografia:
É Professor Auxiliar da Faculdade de Medicina da Universidade de Coimbra. Nesta Faculdade foi: Vogal do Gabinete de Educação Médica, Vogal do Conselho Pedagógico, Secretário do Plenário do Conselho Científico e Secretário do VII Grupo (Cirurgia). Os seus interesses na área da investigação centram-se na: Função Intestinal e qualidade de vida após cirurgia colo-rectal, Optimização da cirurgia no tratamento do cancro do recto, Incontinência fecal e disfunção do pavimento pélvico. Neste âmbito tem participado e organizado múltiplos cursos, congressos, mesas redondas e comunicações livres.

Biography:
João Manuel de Paiva Pimentel is an auxiliary professor at the University of Coimbra Faculty of Medicine, where he has served as member of the Office of Medical Education, a member of the Pedagogical Council, secretary of the Standing Committee of the Scientific Commission, and secretary of Group VII (Surgery). His research interests include and have mainly dealt with the areas of: intestinal function and the quality of life after colo-rectal surgery, the optimisation of surgery in the treatment of cancer of the rectum, fecal incontinence, and dysfunction of the pelvic girdle. He has taken part in many courses, conferences, round table discussions, and conversations dealing with these topics.
