Paulo Bernardino

Biografia:
É investigador, maestro, compositor, organista e pianista. Licenciado em Engenharia Eletrotécnica pela Universidade de Coimbra (1998) e em Música Sacra pela Universidade Católica Portuguesa – Porto (2003), é autor de diversos estudos sobre a obra de Manuel Faria. Enquanto compositor é representado pela editora MPmp na qual é também criador e responsável pela linha editorial Sacra XX-XXI. Doutorando em Direção (Coral) na Universidade de Aveiro, tem a seu cargo as direções artísticas do Choral Polyphónico João Rodrigues de Deus (Penela), do Coro da Tuna de Perosinho (Gaia) e do Grupo Coral de Urrô (Arouca). É fundador, entre outros, do Manuel Faria Ensemble. Professor na Escola Diocesana de Música Sacra de Coimbra desde 1994, tem desempenhado desde então as funções de organista da Sé Catedral de Coimbra, sendo nomeado em 2002 organista titular dessa mesma Catedral. Acumula função idêntica na Capela da Universidade de Coimbra desde 2007. Is a researcher, teacher, composer, organist and pianist. He holds a degree in Electrical Engineering from the University of Coimbra (1998) and in Sacred Music from the Universidade Católica Portuguesa, Porto (2003). He is the author of several studies on Manuel Faria’s work. As a composer he is represented by MPmp publishers in which he is also a member of the editorial board and responsible for the series Sacra XX-XXI. Whilst pursuing his PhD in Choral Conducting at the University of Aveiro, Paulo Bernardino conducted the Choral Polyphonic João Rodrigues de Deus (Penela), the Tuna Choir of Perosinho (Gaia) and the Choral Group of Urrô (Arouca). He is one of the founders of the Manuel Faria Ensemble. He has also taught at the Diocesan School of Sacred Music in Coimbra since 1994, simultaneously holding the position of organist of the Cathedral of Coimbra. In 2002 he was named the official organist of this same Cathedral. Since 2007 he has occupied the same position at the Chapel of the University of Coimbra
