Biography:
Priscilla Gontijo Leite earned a PhD in the studies of the ancient world from the University of Coimbra with the thesis “Ethics and forensic rhetoric: asebeia and hybris in the characterizing of the opponents in Demosthenes”, being passed unanimously with distinction and honours. She earned her master’s in history from the Universidade Federal de Minas Gerais with the dissertation “Against Midias: the use of impiety by Demosthenes” and her bachelor’s in history from the Universidade Federal de Minas Gerais. Having participated in projects for the promotion of Hellenic culture, such as “Prometeu Liberto” and “Trupersa, trupe de tradução em teatro antigo,” she has been a tutor with a specialization in classical studies promoted by the Universidade de Brasília. Priscilla Gontijo Leite has published articles in several Brazilian journals and participated in conferences in Brazil and abroad. Her main research interests are the Greek religion, rhetoric in Demosthenes, and the judiciary system and conception of citizenship in Athens.
