Biografia:
Roger Lee de Jesus é doutorando em História Moderna na Universidade de Coimbra, com bolsa da Fundação para a Ciência e Tecnologia (SFRH/BD/84046/2012), desenvolvendo uma tese sobre o governo do “Estado da Índia” por D. João de Castro (1545-1548). Tem vindo a debruçar-se sobre a história da presença portuguesa na Ásia, numa perspetiva política e sobretudo militar, especialmente no século XVI. É licenciado (2010) e mestre (2012) em História pela Faculdade de Letras da Universidade de Coimbra. É colaborador do Centro de História da Sociedade e da Cultura (UC) e assistente de investigação do CHAM - Centro de Humanidades (FCSH-UNL/UAç).

Biography:
Roger Lee de Jesus is a PhD student in Modern History at the University of Coimbra, with a grant from the Foundation for Science and Technology (SFRH / BD / 84046/2012), developing a thesis on the government of the “State of India” by D. João de Castro (1545-1548). It has been focusing on the history of the Portuguese presence in Asia, from a political and especially military perspective, especially in the 16th century. He has a degree (2010) and a masters degree (2012) in History from the Faculty of Letters of the University of Coimbra. He is a collaborator at the Center for the History of Society and Culture (UC) and research assistant at CHAM - Center for Humanities (FCSH-UNL / UAç).
