Os seus interesses científicos incidem sobre: materiais poliméricos, biomateriais, tintas, revestimentos e vernizes e biopolímeros. Maria Helena Mendes Gil is a tenured professor in the Chemical Engineering Department of the University of Coimbra’s Faculty of Sciences and Technology. Her scientific interests centre on polymeric materials, biomaterial, paints, coatings, varnishes, and biopolymers.
