Miguel Almeida é doutorado em Engenharia Mecânica, na especialidade de Risco Naturais e Tecnológicos pela Universidade de Coimbra, onde também é Professor Auxiliar Convidado. É igualmente Investigador Sénior e Membro do Conselho de Administração da ADAI – Associação para o Desenvolvimento da Aerodinâmica Industrial, onde, desde 2003, tem vindo a dedicar a sua investigação aos incêndios rurais, com especial ênfase nos incêndios na interface urbano florestal, sendo autor de várias dezenas de publicações técnicas e científicas.

Miguel Almeida holds a Ph.D. in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Coimbra, where he is also an Adjunct Assistant Professor. He is a Senior Researcher and a Board of Directors Member at ADAI (Association for the Development of Industrial Aerodynamics). Since 2003, his research has focused on wildland-urban interface fires, and he has authored several dozen technical and scientific publications. Advocating for the transfer of knowledge between scientific and operational communities, he is also an instructor at the Portuguese National Firefighters School.
