Flávio Miranda (Porto, 1982) é investigador contratado na Faculdade de Letras da Universidade do Porto e membro integrado do Centro de Investigação Transdisciplinar «Cultura, Espaço e Memória». Tem-se dedicado ao estudo da economia mercantil de Portugal durante o período medieval, segundo abordagens de história económica e institucional. Os seus trabalhos mais recentes incluem análises às exportações portuguesas para os mercados da Europa atlântica e investigações à gestão de conflitos marítimos nos séculos XIV e XV. Ao longo do seu percurso académico, efetuou estâncias e investigou na Universidade de Groningen (Países Baixos), na Universidade de Notre Dame (Indiana, EUA), na Universidade de Cambridge (Reino Unido) e no Instituto de Estudos Medievais da Faculdade de Ciências Sociais e Humanas da Universidade Nova de Lisboa. É membro do comité científico da Cátedra UNESCO “O Património Cultural dos Oceanos” (FCSH NOVA).

Flávio Miranda (Porto, 1982) is a hired researcher at the Faculty of Arts and Humanities of the University of Porto, and integrated member of the CITCEM. He studies Portugal’s merchant economy in the later middle ages through economic and institutional approaches. His recent works examine Portuguese exports to markets in Atlantic Europe and maritime conflict management in the fourteenth and fifteenth centuries. Throughout his career, he has researched or worked the University of Groningen (the Netherlands), the University of Notre Dame (Indiana, USA), the University of Cambridge (UK), and at the Institute of Medieval Studies of the Faculty of Social and Human Sciences of the Nova University of Lisbon. He coordinates the seminar ‘Sources in Foreign Archives for the Study of Portuguese History’ at the University of Porto. He is a member of the scientific committee of the UNESCO Chair ‘The Ocean’s Cultural Heritage’ at the FCSH-NOVA University Lisbon.
