É Professor Catedrático da cadeira de Imagiologia na Faculdade de Medicina da Universidade de Coimbra e Diretor da Clínica Universitária de Imagiologia dos Hospitais da Universidade de Coimbra. Entre outros cargos foi Vice-Presidente da FNS, Presidente da Direção da Associação Nacional de Unidades de Diagnóstico por Imagem (ANAUDI), Vice-presidente da Direção da Sociedade Portuguesa de Radiologia e Medicina Nuclear (SPRMN) e Presidente do Colégio da Especialidade de Radiodiagnóstico da Ordem dos Médicos.Participa em vários projetos de investigação e publicou já vários trabalhos científicos entre os quais: Mathieu D, Coffin C, Kobeiter H, Caseiro-Alves F, et al. Filipe Caseiro Alves is a professor of imaging at the University of Coimbra Faculty of Medicine and director of the Coimbra University Hospitals Imaging Clinic. Among other positions, he was vice-president of FNS, president of the National Association of Diagnostic Imagining Units (ANAUDI), vice-president of the Portuguese Radiology and Nuclear Medicine Association (SPRMN), and president of the Portuguese Medical Council’s College of Radiodiagnostics.
