Licínia Simão, doutorada em Relações Internacionais (especialidade de Estudos Europeus) pela Universidade de Coimbra, é professora auxiliar em Relações Internacionais na Faculdade de Economia da Universidade de Coimbra e investigadora do Centro de Estudos Sociais, estando envolvida em diversos projectos de investigação centrados no espaço pós-Soviético. Desde Dezembro de 2018, está em funções oficiais como assessora do Ministro da Defesa Nacional. É a atual Coordenadora da Secção de Relações Internacionais da Associação Portuguesa de Ciência Política (SRI/APCP) e membro do Conselho Consultivo do Georgian Institute of Politics, em Tbilisi. Foi investigadora visitante no Center for European Policy Studies, em Bruxelas e no Centre for European Studies, na Universidade de Carleton, em Otava. Os seus interesses académicos incluem Política Externa e Estudos de Segurança, com enfoque na Política Externa Europeia e no Espaço Pós-Soviético. A sua mais recente publicação é o livro "The EU Neighbourhood Policy towards the South Caucasus: Expanding the European Security Community" (Palgrave Macmillan, 2018).

Licínia Simão, PhD in International Relations (specialty of European Studies) from the University of Coimbra, is an assistant professor in International Relations at the Faculty of Economics of the University of Coimbra and researcher at the Center for Social Studies, being involved in several research projects centered on space post-Soviet. Since December 2018, she has been in official duties as an advisor to the Minister of National Defense. She is the current Coordinator of the International Relations Section of the Portuguese Political Science Association (SRI / APCP) and member of the Advisory Council of the Georgian Institute of Politics, in Tbilisi. She was a visiting researcher at the Center for European Policy Studies in Brussels and at the Center for European Studies at Carleton University in Ottawa. His academic interests include Foreign Policy and Security Studies, with a focus on European Foreign Policy and the Post-Soviet Space. His most recent publication is the book "The EU Neighborhood Policy towards the South Caucasus: Expanding the European Security Community" (Palgrave Macmillan, 2018).
